Materials Characterization Laboratory
Established in 1984, CAMET Research has become a trusted partner for product development, quality control and material failure investigations. We practice X-ray analysis combining basic crystallography with solid state chemistry.
What we do
Applying proven methods in X-ray diffraction and fluorescence, we currently support these industries:
Cement:
Portland clinker composition
Alternative silicate chemistries (fly ash, pozzolans)
Concrete:
Concrete failure through deleterious mineral formation
Landfill Managemet:
Monitoring leachate scale formation
Medical Devices:
Hydroxylapatite chemistry
Medical clay chemistry
Crystal Growth:
Orientation and reorientation of large single crystal devices (LAUE-method)
Geotech:
Clay identification and clay content in soils
Mineralogy of soils
Oil & Gas:
Identification of ferrous corrosion products
Steel:
XRD retained austenite analysis
Water Treatment:
Solid waste identification from municipal treatment facilities
Full laboratory for sample preparation (including calcination up to 2200F, cutting, diamond saw cutting, rock crushing, pulverizing, grinding, polishing) and wet chemistry capabilities on site.
